For the fractional CFO

Twelve clients.
One standard.

Every client keeps a different chart of accounts. Every board wants the same clarity. Set each one up once, then serve all of them in an evening.

Sample data

An illustrative month-end roster: six client types, the pages each pack ran to, and the month-end minutes each took.

Mechanical contractor6 pages14m
Two-partner law firm5 pages9m
Dental group7 pages18m
Regional logistics5 pages12m
Coffee roaster3 pages7m
All six, start to sent1h 11m

Minutes are the whole month-end for that client, not just assembly: reading the numbers, writing the commentary and sending it. The three minutes quoted on the home page is pack assembly alone.

The mapping belongs to the client, not to the file.

Each workspace holds that client’s accounts, groupings, renamed lines and column rules. You are not re-deriving anyone’s P&L at 11pm because they added three accounts in November.

Watch a pack get built.

Ninety seconds, recorded in the product on a real set of books. Nothing loads until you press play and there is no form in front of it.

Views

Group it, rename it, decide what the columns mean.

Drag accounts into the subtotals your reader recognises. Rename the lines. Then say what a column is: a month, a quarter, a fund, a budget. The view remembers all of it.

Cedar Lane Landscaping revenue by quarter for 2025, with the variance against the 2025 plan.

Six columns, two clicks, saved to the view. Next month you move the as-of date and it all still holds.

Exports

Need a view somewhere else? Take it.

An image for the slide. A workbook for the file. A CSV of the raw values for whatever you are building. All of it runs in your browser.

Then there is the Excel model, which is the one to look at. Transactions on one sheet, the chart of accounts on another, every statement built on top of them in live formulas. Your client changes a number and the statement moves.

Packs

Then pack it up.

Views are the pages. A pack is what you actually send. Build one for the board, one for the bank, one for the owner who only wants two charts and a sentence. Make as many as you want, all off the same numbers, all frozen the moment you publish.

Set it up once. Then it repeats.

Map your accounts into your views a single time. After that a new month is a new file and a date change, not a rebuild.

  1. 01

    Drop in the list

A transaction list out of any system. CSV or Excel, straight from the export you already run.

  2. 02

    Build the views

Group, rename and subtotal the accounts into the statements you actually present. Once.

  3. 03

    Tie out

Check the result against the system you came from, line by line, so you are not the one doing it at midnight.

  4. 04

    Send the pack

Assemble the pages, generate the PDF, or export the whole thing as a working Excel model.

The sample company

See the real thing before you tell us your name.

Cedar Lane Landscaping is a whole set of books inside the actual product. Not a tour and not a slideshow. Build a view, add a column, assemble a pack, export the model.

It runs on sample data and there is no way to hand it your own numbers, so none of your numbers can reach us from it.

Bring your worst client.

Invite only while every workspace still gets set up by hand with your own trial balance. You leave with a pack you can send.

“I spent years doing this until midnight. I built this so you don’t have to.”Matt Brattin, founder, ex-CFO
